Church Across the Dinner Table was recently established to provide a second weekly opportunity for worship for both Mt. Hope members as well as area community members. These informal services are a blend of a casual dinner, litugical elements, and a relaxed atmosphere. Services are held outside when the weather permits.

The Wednesday event begins with a free home-cooked meal such as chili, stew, sandwiches, or macaroni and cheese at 6:00. This is followed by a service at 6:30 that includes several liturgical elements such as confession of sins, but keeps its focus on the non-traditional elements, which include fun praise songs, guitar and/or piano music, and an object lesson. Each week a different object such as a bike tire or kitchen chair is chosen and Pastor Hesse illustrates how such an unusual or common object can demonstrate the Word of God in action.

The service lasts one half-hour followed by an opportunity for fellowship. All are invited to attend!
